Spin Language The following letters are combined to create the name of each spin. Following the letters there will then be a number that indicates the Level given to that spin. C Camel S Sit U Upright L Layback F Flying C Change Co Combination S Spin ‘C’ and ‘Co C stands for a change of foot (‘C’ also stands for camel- more on that later) Co stands for a change of position CCoSp this spin has a change of foot and a change of position ‘C’ is for ??? CSp: The only time a spin position is specifically listed is in a spin in one position, in this case, a camel spin. CoSp: A combination spin, i.e., camel, sit spin, no longer has the individual positions listed- it’s just a combination spin. CCSp: This spin is still a spin in one position, a camel spin, so we still need a ‘C’ for camel. In this case, the first ‘C’ stands for ‘change’ and the second for ‘camel’ CCoSp: If the skater were to do the same spin as above but also include a different position somewhere in it, the ‘C’ would no longer stand for ‘camel’ since specific positions are never listed in combination spins. It would become ‘Co’ for ‘change’ so this spin is a change combination spin. A Tip… The first ‘C’ always stands for ‘Change’ . If there is another ‘C’ the second one will stand for ‘Camel’ All spins fit into one of these short forms CSp Camel Spin SSp Sit Spin USp Upright Spin LSp Layback Spin CoSp Combination Spin CCSp Change Camel Spin CSSp Change Sit Spin CUSp Change Upright Spin CLSp Change Layback Spin CCoSp Change Combination Spin FCSp Flying Camel Spin FSSp Flying Sit Spin FUSp Flying Upright Spin FLSp Flying Layback Spin FCoSp Flying Combination Spin FCCSp Flying Change Camel Spin FCSSp Flying Change Sit Spin FCUSp Flying Change Upright Spin FCLSp Flying Change Layback Spin FCCoSp Flying Change Comb.
