Family members, friends, colleagues, students, fans and acquaintances attended a gathering at Ryerson Theatre on Sunday, October 29, 2006 to celebrate the life of Harry Osborne Colson who passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006 at the age of 90. Michael Alexander was the Master of Ceremonies. Sarah Kawahara was the keynote speaker. Other speakers included Marilyn Ruth Take, Doug Haw, Elaine Morgan, Cheryl Richardson, Lewis and Patrick Chan, Don Jackson and Emery Leger. Additional remarks by Louis Stong and Lindsay Histrop were read. Barbara Ann Scott King presented her remarks on DVD. Following the speeches, a 40 minute audio visual production was shown that included photos from throughout his life as well as video clips of Mr. Colson skating and speaking. Before and after the ceremony attendees gathered in small groups to reminisce and share stories. Following the events at the theatre flowers were laid at his gravesite at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. |
